We're finishing up some key sequences for "Mr. Mullen" this week. Last week we did some more voice-over work with Chris, and mid-week we're shooting final sequences with Chris at on the Train and at Welwyn. I had an idea as to where they can go, so we'll see if they fit in well for the pacing. One of the examples is a sequence I have edited of Chris waiting for a train and next thing you know he's in the city - Well, to add a little breathing room wanted to get a few shots of him on the train holding his luggage, looking tired, the scenery moving past the train, to give the feeling that we're on the train with him as he ventures into the city. Small things like that I feel are important. And we also have to record voice dialogue for a scene that I shot of Danielle applying lipstick and makeup - and recording other dialogue this week and a few other scenes for the film, so will finish that by the weekend more than likely.
Been thinking about "The Project" and the ideas for it. We start shooting next Wednesday and I have a lot of ideas going through my mind. At first, a few days ago, the idea was to have a campfire scene at night but now the idea is to have it more fast paced. As a filmmaker, trying to get into the head of a Militia member who is being chased and comes upon a unarmed civilian and how the character would react and how the civilian would act if in this situation...What does the civilian think at first when the Milita member tells him that the United States is being taken over? How does the Militia member react when he hears footsteps in the distance? Things like that will be worked out before we shoot and those questions that need to be answered will be the foundation of blocking and acting for the sequences.
