New Content

Should have new content up on the website by the weekend (ie: Paul Kratka Interview, The Forest Hills - In Production - Preview, The Day They Came Back - Behind the Scenes, and a few other clips). Still working on the Final Edit of "Loss of Hope" since we have to fix up some audio issues.

Been shooting and this past Wed was the last day of shooting visuals with Chris for "Mr. Mullen". Shot on a train, and it was interested since I never shot any footage on a train. Exterior light and interior light clashed which kept the inside of the train white-balanced by still brought a blue tint from the outside. When getting outside shots from inside the moving train, I had to white balance on the sky (which was cloudy) since I couldn't put the white piece of paper outside, to ensure the outside was near it's actual color (sometimes slightly tinted windows will throw the color off a tiny bit). Also shot at the cliff area at Webb Institute. Very interesting with the very windy water and the colors of everything.

Most of the stuff will not be used per say in scenes but some of the clips will be used in the "Dream Sequence" which I am prolonging for "Mr. Mullen". I wanted to really get inside the characters head on what ticks him off and what makes him snap. The focus is on the society of today especially the teenage/college kid attitude of getting high and drunk - while he just lost his home and lost everything has has and how he's in a different mindset since he lives on his own and has to pay his own bills.

There are still some minor things I want to shoot with some other cast member such as another Preach Scene with Kelly and hopefully get some new talent into the production as well. Next week we start "The Project".

Trying to keep money saved up for a new camera ("RED") and make the films with what we have as far as equipment. The DVX100 has been working out well and we'll milk it all we can. The quality from the video is still very good compared to other Mini-Dv camera's, but with HD being the norm, it's easier to tell the difference - video is less quality than Hi-Def and all of these camera's were not made to have any 35mm adapters to attach on the front of them (so you get unwanted fuzz for the dark shadows when shooting or whenever you're in a low light situation) - but you work with what you have and the budget that you have, which in this case in no budget.

A really cool documentary that is coming out this Summer is "Montauk Unveiled" by filmmaker Chris Garetano. I saw the beginning title sequence to it so far and it's pretty rad. Looking forward to seeing that and pick up a copy of "Horror Buisness" which is in stores now.
