Kelly couldn't make it out today so Chris and I shot some of his solo sequences. We drove down to the beach at Welwyn and started to shoot when I noticed a spec / hair in the adapter. After trying to get it out by shaking it, we decided to keep on shooting. Shortly after we decided to go to the Hardware Store and pick up an allen key to open up the adapter to fix the problem. So we arrived back at Welwyn around 5:30 PM and shot some more sequences, this time in the parking lot. In this sequence of the film, Chris' character is taking his backpack and sleeping back out of the back trunk of the car. We also shot a few shots of his walking through the woods as well as a few shots of him arguing on the phone with his wife. A lot of this was unplanned so hopefully we'll find a spot to put it in. I do remember a few takes of Chris doing his small monologue for one of the scenes towards the end of the film, so I do have to go over that and see what will work and what won't work.
Two more days of shoot with Kelly for "The Project". We shot him waking up on the backyard a few days ago. I played the whole Dark Side of the Moon album while we shot. That was a rush and I could tell it was getting Kelly into the zone which is always good when shooting film. For example, on the song "Time" by Pink Floyd off that album, there is a park where clock alarms chime in the beginning of it. We set it up so that Kelly would open his eyes once he heard the clock alarms. Even though this sound won't be in the film, it helped for him to play off of a sound such as that.
Scheduling has been tough as we have been unable to find matching days for clouds. To me there is something about a cloudy day. We had originally planned to have Kelly done by May 10th but due to issues with the weather, we've been unable to do so, so hopefully by this week since he has a commitment for another project we will be able to finish up his scenes.
